The use of Tetroxoprim/Sulfadiazine(Virocide^(®)) in Urinary Tract Infection

Abstract

|
A new bactericidal Agent, Tetroxoprim/Sulfadiazine(Virocide®) was administered orally in 41 cases of genitourinary tract infection and following results were obtained.
1. Among 13 cases of Acute simple cystitis, the cure rate was 92.3%.
2. Among 7 cases of chronic complicated urinary tract infections, the cure rate was 71.4%.
3. Among 10 cases of Gonorrheal urethritis, the cure rate was 90%.
4. Among 11 cases of nongonorrheal urethritis, the cure rate was 63.6%.
There was no serious side effects. The results suggest that Tetroxoprim /Sulfadiazine
(Vivocide®) is a useful bactericidal agent in the treatment of urinary tract infections.
